A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"After visiting the amazing Tintagel Castle we were quite a bit hungry. This restaurant was still open for lunch and had some tables outside. Our English Bulldog was welcome as well. Ordered a Jacket Potatoe with Quinoa Curry and Crab Cakes with fries. Some water and Coke with that - had a long drive ahead of me. Both meals came with fresh and crunchy salad on the side. The quinoa curry was very nice, never had quinoa curry before. Went well with the potatoes. The crab cakes were a pleasant suprise. Hot, crispy and with nice seafood flavour. Tender and creamy inside. Staff was very friendly, prices very fair. Good location on the main road (but still quiet). A very good lunch in a wonderful town."
"A group of us visited here for lunch. We were welcomed and seated as soon as we arrived. The staff were lovely and food was great and reasonably priced too.Our food arrived and the plates were full. We were pleasantly surprised on how generous they were with the portions. The three men in our group were like excited little boys when they saw the size of their burgers! Would definitely recommend."
"I always research restaurants before we visit an area and Crossbow had the best pricing and something for everyone. I had the Bacon and Brie Toasty and it was the best I've ever had. Very generous size. It came with a lovely salad and a little serving of some amazing (very fresh) coleslaw. I was glad our daughter doesn't like slaw, because she had a bigger portion that I ate. I kid you not, I'd buy a vat of it if I could! Our daughter did enjoy her chicken goujons and chips. My husband had the very healthy in size breakfast bap (he said next time he'll order the eggs cooked through as runny eggs made the roll fall apart), but he ate it with a knife and fork and said it was delicious. We'll definitely be back. We live about 40 mins away and will make this a lunch destination soon."
"beautiful cosy restaurant with very welcoming and helpful staff. They were able to accommodate 12 of us no problem (1 table for the adults, 1 table for the teens). We ordered all different dishes & drinks from cream tea to burger and chips to full English. All were great portions, presented well and were delicious. Haven't got a bad word to say"
"Just a great little jem in a very nice touristy town! The food was very sensible priced, fresh and served promptly! We arrived just a little after 13:00 and it was not too busy. There are 2 car parks nearby and the pub is easily accessible for wheelchair users."
"I was coming from Castle and I decided to check this little restaurant . I ordered eggs , backon , sausages and coffee . The service was excellent and quick . Also the breakfast was absolutely amazing ! Very nicely made egg . Also, bread was fresh and backon and sausages perfect . Price was good as well , not expensive . The restaurant has little.garden outside you can use and also nicely decorated inside . Toilets were very clean . I cannot give less than deserved 5 stars! . Thank you !"
"Very friendly, family run cafe, which is frequented by my many of the locals. Indoor & outdoor seating. Specials board. Sandwiches are made to order & you can choose from white or wholemeal bread. Pasties are popular as they sold out the day that we were there. Cream teas are also popular. Toilets are inside cafe & are very clean."
"Sunday roast was amazing, huge portions, nice fresh local produce, the staff are lovely, we would definitely recommend this place…"
